I am a parent of two children. My older daughter needed lots of help due to a rocky start which put me in practice for my now teenage son who has a learning disability and health issues.
Through sheer determination and despite the system I have ensured his successful inclusion in mainstream school and our local community.
When I graduated from the Partners in Policymaking Course, Eastern Region in 2007 I felt better equipped to continue to help my family to have a good life by ensuring my son has the support he needs to have the life he deserves.
I have worked and become involved in the last few years with many disability related organisations and currently act as a parent carer representative on a number of boards and wherever else I can, to promote the equality and fairness in which I so passionately believe.
